In a clever twist of marketing genius, Durex Singapore announced the “Come Run” – an event touted to be the most satisfying run of the year, set for September 6th. The brand invited couples to participate in a unique night run, with the option to select between a 6 or 9-kilometre distance. However, in a playful revelation befitting April Fool’s Day, Durex disclosed that the Come Run was, in fact, a whimsical fabrication designed to entertain and engage their audience.

Durex is no stranger to April Fool’s Day antics, having previously advertised imaginary products such as Durex Smoked Sausage in 2018 and Durex Mala HotPot in 2019. This year’s joke aligns with the brand’s tradition of engaging consumers with humor and creativity.

Marketing Mirth and Merriment

Despite the non-existence of the Come Run, the first 100 individuals who registered for the event are promised exclusive race packs. These packs, designed to mimic Durex’s 3s condom box, include $100 worth of merchandise such as a special Come Run Finisher tee, race bib, various Durex condoms, lubricant, and other goodies. They underscore Durex’s commitment to engaging with their audience in innovative and humorous ways.

Exclusive Race Packs and Where to Find Them

Those quick enough to register for the fictional Come Run 2024 will be rewarded with the exclusive race packs, available for collection at Guardian, Marina Bay Sands. Additionally, for a limited time on April 6 and 7, 2024, shoppers who spend a minimum of $35 on any Durex product in a single receipt at select pharmacies in Singapore will also be eligible to redeem a Durex Race Pack. This initiative not only amplifies the brand’s April Fool’s joke but also encourages product sales in a fun and engaging manner.
